Why did you decide to become a franchisee?
When we returned to Australia from the UK in late 2004, we searched for a business opportunity that we could own. We wanted to work flexible hours and be able to spend as much time as possible with our daughters. My own home based business would better suit my lifestyle, and would enable me to continue a professional career and spend time with the family at the same time.

What made you chose to join 'Dial a Wife?'
'Dial a Wife' franchise attracted us because it offered a guaranteed client base, had bookkeeping and data base systems in place, and used the latest and up to date equipment.
It was assuring that 'Dial a Wife' used environmentally friendly products, and had a thorough training program implemented. Most importantly, we received total support in the initial set up stages, and ongoing guidance from franchisors, Jan and Ross.

How did you begin the process of becoming a franchisee?
Upon the decision to franchise, we met with Jan and Ross over a coffee and seemed to connect. This was very important to both parties because we initially worked very closely with each other in setting up the franchise business. We then progressed with the formal application process and were accepted as franchisees.

What are the confronting aspects of having your own franchise business?
It was a challenge to learn about an area that we had no professional experience in. We had to familiarise ourselves with the many aspects of the 'Dial a Wife' business, and understand the cleaning standards set out by the franchise. Thankfully, Jan and Ross provided as much training and support as necessary and were always available to discuss any issues.

What are some of the benefits of being part of a franchise?
Buying a franchise has enabled us to operate our own business while having the security of backup and support systems. We have been in operation for over twelve months and continued to develop, learn and expand. As a part of a franchise business, your branding is more recognised, which again is beneficial when marketing your business.
